Council tax arrears
Council Tax is a high priority. It is important to keep up with your council tax payments. If you fall behind, you could lose the right to pay in monthly instalments and may be issued with a summary warrant
What is a Summary Warrant?
A summary Warrant is a fast tracked procedure used by Local Authorities to recover Council Tax Arrears.
If you have received a summary warrant, it should tell you the amount of Council Tax due and who to contact to arrange to pay this. The amount due will have increased as there is an automatic penalty of 10% if a summary warrant has been granted against you.
If you find yourself struggling to maintain your council tax payments or you have received a Summary warrant please contact our Gemap advisor as soon as possible.
